Empowering Future Innovators: TUT’s Eurydice Project Unveils Collaborative Renewable Energy Labs for Real-World Learning

TUT hosted an exciting renewable energy workshop under the banner Eurydice Project in collaboration with various stakeholders i.e international project partners from Ulm University of Applied Sciences (UUAS); University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien (UASTW)) as well as South African industry partners (Downright Energy, African Institute for Public Admin, Anairsun PTY LTD and Rivoni Matimba). The aim of this workshop was to present and demonstrate the final product of the different laboratories in terms of operations and maintenance. Within this task project
To accomplish this task the project members of the European and South African partners worked together (CUT & UUAS, DUT & Technikum Vienna, TUT & BME). Each South African institution designed “Open Lab” and “Mobile Lab” which reflects the special competence in one or more renewable energy topics such as wind, solar as well as its storage packages. The aim of this workshop was to provide students with an experience of working in cooperation with industry in real time, furthermore to demonstrate real cases and real time exposure to enhance the practical experience compared to the theory gained in the classroom. It opens up more possibilities for student’s work integrated learning, practical experience required for completion of their qualifications, internships and permanent employment through the Eurydice web portal.
